This film, shot over a period of 10 years, relates the destiny of Stefano Cascio, a young man who embarked upon the path of the priesthood in 2001 at the age of 23. The Church brutally entered the life of his Franco-Italian family without a word of warning, confronting a mother and her son with a radical commitment that is unusual in modern society. From the small church in La Colle-sur-Loup on the French Riviera where everything began to St Peter’s at the Vatican where he was ordained by Pope Benedict XVI, Stefano has undertaken a long journey marked out with surprises during which the conviction of his first steps has occasionally wavered according to the events along his path to the priesthood. In spite of his unshakeable faith, no one, not even him, could imagine what his story would be. Year after year, month after month, the film follows this journey, illuminated by the impressions of a son and a mother fired by their own convictions.
